Accreditation is important for higher education to determine if the institution meets or exceeds the minimum standard of quality. The government pushes higher education in Indonesia to achieve international accreditation and improve the quality of education. International accreditation will benefit the higher education for it brings recognition for the institution that will improve its reputation internationally.

Understanding the importance of international accreditation, Universitas Kristen Duta Wacana (UKDW) Yogyakarta in collaboration with International Institute of Applied Informatics (IIAI) and IEEE the Indonesia Section Computer Society Chapter conducted “The International Accreditation for Higher Education (AHE) Seminar” on Saturday, 31 August 2019 at Didaktos Seminar Room UKDW.

Prof. Tokuro Matsuo, Ph.D – the CEO/Executive Director of IIAI Tokyo and Dr. Ford Lumban Gaol, S.Si., M.Kom – the Chairman of IEEE The Indonesia Section Computer Society Chapter Jakarta, Indonesia, were invited as the speakers in this seminar. The two speakers talked about the benefit and challenge of international accreditation, the mechanism of international accreditation by AHE Japan, and the requirements of international accreditation.
