To ensure the safety and health of all lecturers as well as administrative staff and to take part in the effort to contain the spread of COVID-19, the Rector of UKDW has issued work-from-home policy. This policy is stated in the Rector Announcement No. 009/C.12/UKDW/2020 dated March 20, 2020. Lecturers are expected to optimize working from home in conducting teaching-learning activities. Concerning supervision, exam, research which could not be conducted online, those activities must consider work health and safety procedures. “We ask lecturers’ commitment to ensuring an active teaching-learning process and maintain the academic quality as well as productivity,” the Rector said.

Meanwhile, all heads of departments/units are instructed to coordinate and implement working-shift starting from March 23, 2020 until April 3, 2020. In terms of work responsibility which could not be conducted online, such as laboratory work, must reckon work health and safety procedures.

“Administrative staff who live more than 20 km from campus and use public transportation, are allowed to propose work-from-home by maintaining coordination with the head of department/unit. “We ask all administrative staff to be committed to working productively, target-oriented according to the instruction from the head of departments/units,” he added.

However, after considering the situation as the virus spread rapidly and following the current policy issued by the government including information and regulation from the Head of National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB), the Governor of Special Region of Yogyakarta, and the Chief of Indonesian National Police, the Rector of UKDW has issued another Circular Letter No. 011/C.12/UKDW/2020 concerning Work from Home Policy for the Prevention of COVID-19 Epidemic, dated March 23, 2020.

UKDW Rector instructed all lecturers and administrative staff to execute work-from-home starting from Tuesday, March 24, 2020 until Saturday, April 11, 2020. Under certain conditions and if necessary, lecturers and administrative staff will be called to carry out limited work on campus with regard to work health and safety procedure. 

Rector also enacts limitations for campus activities and instructs for screening procedures by the campus security guard.

This policy will be reviewed by taking consideration of the latest situation and condition.
